This linoleum block print, by Mexican printmaker Santiago Armengod, was originally designed for a call for submissions by OSARO, an organization of young Mexican artists responding to Oaxaca’s political situation. It confronts
the issue of people who are “disappeared”. This practice takes place in many countries around the world, usually because of social and political convictions.
Often the victims are tortured and killed, without the government having to
answer to human rights crimes.
